Executive Artistic Director Christopher Rudd is seeking talented dancers of the African Diaspora to join RudduR Dance for WITNESS: The Trilogy.

We are actively looking to hire:
• 3 dancers for women’s tracks
• 1 dancer for a men’s track
• 1 apprentice for a women’s track
• 1 apprentice for a men’s track
(All gender identities welcome to apply.)

Project Details
The rehearsal period runs up to 5 weeks (approx. 15 hours per week) beginning December 1, 2025, culminating in two showings on January 11, 2026.
Ideal candidates are also available for a subsequent rehearsal period in 2026 leading to Juneteenth performances, with potential touring opportunities later that year.

Requirements
Candidates should have professional experience and strong skills in modern, ballet, acting, and partnering. Aerial or circus experience is a plus but not required. Applicants should be prepared to work collaboratively at a high artistic and technical level and engage with unconventional apparatuses (such as bungees and trampolines).

Wellness & Content Advisory
A strong self-care practice is encouraged. This work examines the construct and injustices of race and racism in America. Dancers will portray enslaved people and modern-day injustices. The production includes simulated depictions of sexual harassment and incest, and uses real chains in one section.
All intimate and sensitive scenes are developed under the supervision of a certified Intimacy Director, using consent-based and trauma-informed practices to ensure a brave, supportive process.

Applicants must:
• Be legally authorized to work in the United States
• Be able to rehearse in New York City
• Hold (or be willing to obtain) a valid passport, ideally expiring after January 1, 2027
